Up
This past weekend, we ventured to the movie theater and saw "Up". I loved it. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more, I cried some more. The movie is wonderful. Even my husband liked it. And since he would rather have all of his teeth pulled out than see a movie, that is quite the compliment. The young'un loved it as well. She now wants to get our dog a collar like Dug the dog's, just so she can find out what Daisy is thinking. I can tell her. Daisy is thinking that we're all goofy humans and if we'd just leave her alone for her nap all would be well. That, and could we please give her back the groundhog she caught? She was saving it for a snack later.
Up has a future as a part of my DVD collection. It is worth going to see in the theater. It was truly a wonderful movie.

Happy Birthday Jamie!!!!
Today you are 10. It doesn't seem possible that you are now in the double digits! Your party on Saturday was a huge success, headaches and sickness of other guests not withstanding. You looked so mature and so young all at the same time. I wish we had gotten the pictures off of the camera so I could share them with others, but we're still finding the house again, let alone the camera. My wish for you is that in the coming year you continue to grow and mature as you find your way in the world. I hope you never lose your sense of wonder. I hope you remain as nice and sweet as you are now. I hope you learn how to do everything you set your mind to learn. However, know that no matter what, your dad and I will always be here for you and will always love you. Happy Birthday kiddo.

Almost 10?????
I have no Easter photos downloaded to share with you the grown-up cuteness that is Jamie. She looked so grown-up in her dress on Easter I felt my heart catch a little bit. The calendar keeps reminding me that in just a few short weeks, she'll be 10. While not the child of my blood, she is the child of my heart and the realization that she's growing up so fast surprises me at every turn.
It seems like just yesterday she was a little peanut who cuddled on my lap when she was scared, tired, or sad. The days of endless requests for Mulan and Cinderella have passed. Now it's High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and The Wizards of Waverly Place. She wants to wear lip gloss as often as we'll let her. She has a style of her own now. No longer does it work to go and buy stuff and just give it to her. She wants to go shopping and has asked for gift cards to a couple of her favorite stores as birthday gifts. More and more often at bedtime, she wants to just read by herself. Soon it'll just be good night hugs and kisses and then she'll put herself to bed.
My little girl is becoming a tweenager. What do I do now?

Long time no post
Time has gotten the best of me this past month. Between various theater projects, crochet projects, and house projects I haven't posted anything. Come to think of it, this is more of a Happy St. Patrick's day to those who celebrate and a Happy Tuesday to those who don't. Eventually we'll return to our normal pointless ramblings.
